CRIF Forum Vietnam 2026 Press Release

TRUST, TRANSPARENCY AND THE STRENGTH OF DOMESTIC ENTERPRISES ARE KEY TO VIETNAM’S NEXT CHAPTER OF GROWTH

The inaugural CRIF Forum Vietnam highlighted the role of trusted data in strengthening investor confidence, enhancing enterprise competitiveness and supporting more resilient growth.

HANOI, 27 August 2026: As Vietnam builds on strong momentum in investment and manufacturing to pursue a higher value and more resilient economy, enterprises will increasingly compete on more than cost and production capacity. Transparency, credibility and the ability to make sound decisions in an increasingly complex global business environment will become equally important.

This was one of the central messages of the inaugural CRIF Forum Vietnam 2026, held at Pan Pacific Hanoi under the theme “Empowering Growth with Trusted Data”. The Forum brought together representatives from government agencies, financial institutions, international organisations and the private sector to discuss how trusted information can improve decision making across investment, finance, technology adoption, supply chains and enterprise development.

Vietnam’s growth over recent decades has been underpinned by manufacturing, exports and steady foreign investment. As the economy enters its next phase of development, attention is increasingly shifting towards higher productivity, stronger innovation, enhanced domestic enterprise capabilities and deeper participation by Vietnamese businesses in higher value segments of global supply chains.

From attracting investment to strengthening Vietnamese enterprises

Opening the Forum, Nguyen Minh Tu, General Director of CRIF D&B Vietnam LLC, emphasised the growing importance of trusted information as businesses, financial institutions and investors operate in an environment that is increasingly interconnected, yet also more volatile and uncertain.

“Vietnam has built an impressive growth story and the opportunities ahead remain substantial. As the economy becomes more developed and complex, however, the quality of decisions will increasingly depend on the quality of the information behind them. Trusted data enables businesses, financial institutions and investors to assess risk and identify opportunities with greater confidence. Trust is becoming an essential part of the economic infrastructure that allows capital to flow, transactions to take place and enterprises to participate confidently in domestic and international markets.” - Nguyen Minh Tu, General Director, CRIF D&B Vietnam LLC

From a public policy perspective, Nguyen Xuan Tho, Deputy Director General of the Agency for Private Enterprise and Collective Economy Development, Ministry of Finance, affirmed: “In the digital economy, trusted data is becoming an important measure of corporate credibility, directly influencing access to finance, market expansion and deeper participation in value chains.”

He also emphasised the importance of transparency and strengthening confidence among investors and business owners, affirming that the Agency for Private Enterprise and Collective Economy Development encourages and stands ready to work with domestic and international partners on practical initiatives that contribute to a transparent, trusted and sustainable enterprise data ecosystem.

As Vietnam continues to modernise its financial markets and enhance its appeal to domestic and international capital, transparent information, modern data infrastructure and strong market institutions will become increasingly important in creating a trusted investment and business environment.

A consistent message throughout the Forum was that Vietnam’s next stage of growth cannot be measured solely by investment inflows and manufacturing output. To move further up global value chains, Vietnamese enterprises need to improve productivity, digital capabilities and corporate governance transparency, while also being able to demonstrate their credibility and capabilities to banks, investors, customers and international partners.

This is particularly relevant as Vietnam seeks to strengthen linkages between foreign invested enterprises and domestic businesses, enabling more Vietnamese companies to participate in higher value segments of global supply chains.

Trusted data as a foundation for the economy of the future

Reliable business information plays a critical role in this transition. Greater transparency and deeper access to information about companies, counterparties, suppliers and commercial relationships can give financial institutions greater confidence when allocating capital, help businesses select credible partners and enable Vietnamese enterprises to demonstrate their strengths to a wider market.

This is increasingly important for Vietnam’s manufacturers and exporters. As international trade requirements continue to evolve, businesses need greater visibility over suppliers, counterparties, product origin and risks across the value chain. Transparency is therefore becoming closely linked to market access, financing, investment attraction and competitiveness.

Technology adds a further dimension to this transition. As organisations expand the use of artificial intelligence in their operations and decision making, the reliability of underlying data becomes even more important. Faster decisions do not necessarily lead to better outcomes when the data feeding AI systems is incomplete, inaccurate or poorly governed. High quality data, appropriate governance, transparency and human oversight are therefore essential to the responsible use of AI.

The Forum also broadened the discussion from Vietnam’s success as a manufacturing and export hub to the foundations required for an innovation driven economy. Sessions highlighted the importance of productivity, technology adoption, stronger domestic enterprise capabilities and trusted data in helping Vietnam create greater value and compete in a more complex global economy.

Across the Forum, speakers and panellists returned to a common conclusion: Vietnam’s next chapter of growth will depend on its ability to attract investment and expand production, as well as on stronger enterprises, a more transparent business ecosystem and an environment in which information can be trusted and decisions made with greater confidence.

CRIF Forum Vietnam 2026 brought together speakers and perspectives from the Ministry of Finance, the National Innovation Center, UK Export Finance, the International Finance Corporation, Dragon Capital Vietnam, Vietcombank Fund Management and the Vietnam Association of Small and Medium Enterprises, alongside leaders from the finance, business and professional services sectors.
